WHAT IS ISLAM?

Asalaam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh - May Allah's peace and blessings be upon you all.

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Before I start, let me thank the different Sheikhs in the different mosques that always teach us something after every Swallah(5 daily prayers). I also pray that Allah relieves those among us that are sick, in this outbreak of Covid19, May Allah keep us all healthy, well and enable our scientists to discover a cure to this pandemic. On Monday 26th February 2018, after Dhuhr(midday prayer) the following was taught to us at Gadaffi mosque - Old Kampala mosque and I'm also here to share with you.
QN: How did you become a Muslim?  (answer this at your own time)

Back to our main question - What is Islam?
ANS:
       Islam is the total submission to the Will of Allah.
The word Islam means Peace.
At least that is what most of us were told!!!

Islam = Tawheed.
What is Tawheed?          Tawheed is:-- Belief in the ONESS of Allah.- Belief in ONLY Allah in whatever you do.Tawheed can also be seen in the Shahada we do:- mostly for the new reverts** There's no deity worshipped in the truthfulness of worshipping other than Allah.**

From Surat Al-ikhlaas.
Allah tells us through the blessed lips of the Prophet Muhammad (May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)

Islam came to us at the time we needed it most, at the Time of Jahiliya - Time of Ignorance where women were not more than just sex objects, daughters were buried alive, etc & Islam brought peace, justice, and good judgement.

How did Islam help?
a)Women were told to wear the Jilbaab.
Jilbaab is  a cloth that covers the whole body & is neiher tight nor light.

b) In Surat Nisaa (Women) - a lot of topics are coverd like inheritance where even a female has a share on the inheritance etc.

Alhamdulillah, that's it for today - let's meet & learn more in my next blog.
